John Fairbairn and Grizel Johnstone

John Fairbairn was born on the 29 May 1761 in Cockburnspath, Berwickshire. He married Grizel Johnstone, daughter of Paul Johnstone and Grizel Wishart on 22 October 1784 at Oldhamstocks, East Lothian. She was born in 1762 in Cockburnspath. They had 8 children in total, 6 boys and 2 girls.

David Fairbairn, born 24 July 1787 in Oldhamstocks, East Lothian, died after 1851. He married Alison Anderson on 10 March 1809 at Stearhouse Toll, East Lothian. She was born approx. June 1788 at Stearch-Ho Toll. They had 11 children, John (1810), Thomas (1812), David (1814), Paul (1815), William (1817), James (1819), Alexander (1821), Walter (1821), Christian (1825), Grace (1827) and Alison (1829).

 

 

Paul Fairbairn, born 4 July 1790 in Oldhamstocks, East Lothian.

 

James Fairbairn , born 25 October 1793 in Oldhamstocks, East Lothian, died 19 January 1875 at Cove, Cockburnspath. He married Jane Anderson, daughter of John Anderson and Elizabeth Donaldson on 2 Dec 1816 at Cockburnspath. She was born on 15 April 1798 at Cockburnspath and died on 17 January 1872 at Cove, Cockburnspath. They had 8 children, 7 boys and 1 girl, John (1817), Jane (1820), James (1822), Thomas (1826), David (1828), William (1832), Paul (1835) and George (1839).

 

Alexander Fairbairn, born 2 February 1875 in Oldhamstocks, East Lothian. He married Jane Walton on 12 December 1815 at Edinburgh. They had 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls, Issac (1828?), Jane (1830), Walter (1835?), Thomas (1837?), Mary Ann (1839), Janet (1841?).
